Well, in case you aren't aware or have yet to make the switch to Genext Voice, here are the latest findings on the tremendous growth in the new phone technology know as VoIP. TeleGeography's research indicates that 5.4 million U.S. households now subscribe to a VoIP service, up from 2.7 million just one year ago. Overall, VoIP penetration among US households has increased to 3.5% or almost 3.9 million households in January, up from 2.9% six months before.
In terms of voice quality, 67% of early-adopter households say VoIP matches that of traditional landline service, while 19% note that VoIP provides even better quality than wired phone lines. In terms of service reliability, 71% say VoIP and traditional landlines are equally reliable, while 16% say VoIP is more reliable. TeleGeography projects that by year-end 2010; VoIP will have attracted over 21 million subscribers, nearly one in five of all U.S. households!
The growth of VoIP can be attributed to many things; more households are converting to high speed Internet connections. As well, consumers believe the service is reliable, good quality and inexpensive. The Rising Costs of Gas
Gas prices in the Wenatchee Valley have topped $3 since the beginning on May. The rising cost of gas affects each of us on a daily basis. Our lifestyles are arranged around transportation, our ability to get around. From the commute to work, weekend travel, running of errands, carting of children to and from, and even as part of our regular jobs. It's not until gas prices have reached an outrageous level that we come to realize our dependence on our automobiles.
Some people have the discretionary income to deal with the higher price of gas. But others aren't so fortunate. Many are forced to make cuts elsewhere to pay the extra gas costs. They may eat out less, choose to spend vacations close to home or not take them at all, as well as postponing or canceling big-ticket purchases.
If you are looking to cut costs to compensate for the rising costs of gas, think about bundling your services with Genext. Now in Chelan County, you can save money by bundling your services on one bill: Internet, TV and Genext Voice. In Douglas and Grant County, bundle Internet and Genext Voice. Bundling services saves money, and can result in hundreds of dollars a year in savings.
Below are some other ways in which you can help fight the price at the pump.
Check out: http://www.washingtongasprices.com. This link helps locate the cheapest gas around the state of Washington. As of Saturday, May 13th, the cheapest gas in Wenatchee was $3.06 at the Shell station on the Wenatchee Avenue at Maple Street.
Other Gas-saving tips:
Walk or use a bicycle for short trips.
Make sure the gas cap clicks three times. Every year, Americans let 147 million gallons of fuel vaporize.
Gas up during the coolest part of the day. You get more liquid because the gas is denser.
Remove bike racks or cargo carriers from the roof. Roof carriers can cut your mileage by 10 percent.
Empty your trunk of everything but the spare tire.
Keep tires properly inflated.
Roll up your windows, especially at high speeds. The wind resistance can hurt your mileage as much as the air conditioner.
Use cruise control and drive the speed limit. That can save you as much as 11 percent.
Turn off the car when picking up the kids. Starting the car uses less gas than idling.
Plan your day efficiently so you make fewer trips. Fewer trips equates to less gas and more money in your pocketbook.
Share rides to work and church and when going out.
