What
could be more fitting than the bright and cheerful 75-degree
temp on the last day of the KPQ Home and Garden Show? Spring
is just around the corner in the Wenatchee Valley. And it’s
come time to start working on the yard, break out the patio
furniture and begin the many home projects discussed over the
long, cold winter. Hopefully you found the inspiration or ideas
you were looking for after visiting the show this last weekend.
Over 30,000 visitors attended this year's KPQ event. Genext
greeted thousands of attendees; traffic was steadily busy
throughout the weekend with many admiring our 52" Samsung
flat screen plasma television that featured Genext TV in High
Definition. There was a lot of buzz about Genext Services...Internet,
TV and Voice bundled all on one bill. We received close to
a hundred inquiries from potential customers ready to sign
up for Genext Bundled Services.
What a difference a year makes! At last years show, we publicly
launched our Bundled Services, Genext Internet, TV and Voice.
This year...hundreds of people stopped by the booth expressing
their interest in bundling their Internet, TV and Voice...all
on one bill. It seems everyone wants bundled savings; contact
Genext, your local choice for Internet, TV and Voice Service
and find out how much you can save.
Genext Welcomes Brad and
Frank to the Team!
As business continues to explode and more customers continue
to select Genext, we are faced with the need for additional
talent to help us grow. This month we are happy to welcome
two new Technical Service Representatives to the team.
Starting this month, Brad Jordan and Francisco Gonzalez will
undergo a series of training sessions to acquaint themselves
with Genext products and services. And will quickly get up
to speed to better serve you! We are fortunate to bring on
both Brad and Frank; their background in customer service,
technical aptitude and experience contributes greatly to our
expanding team.
Brad Jordan is currently attending WVC for Networking and
Computer Sciences and is just shy of receiving his degree.
He is looking forward to putting his education to use by supporting
our customers with technical issues. Brad has many years of
customer service experience and his patient demeanor is a
wonderful asset to Genext.
Francisco Gonzalez is currently helping out a family run
business and previously worked at Staples for the last five
years. He has excellent customer service skills and is a quick
learner. At Staples he was regarded as one of the top salesman
and held the #1 position in sales for 3 years straight! He
will be instrumental in signing up and informing customers
of the available options at Genext.
March Madness on Genext
TV
I couldn't be more ecstatic. For the first time in thirteen
years, the Washington State Cougars were chosen for the NCAA
Basketball Tournament. That's right, it’s March Madness...an
annual ritual officially kicking off this week. Pairings for
the 2007 NCAA tournament were announced Sunday, with games
commencing on Thursday and the championship game set for Monday,
April 2nd.
And Genext TV will have all the NCAA Tournament coverage
available. Games can be watched on KIRO TV, the local Seattle
CBS affiliate live, with lots of extra NCAA Tournament coverage.
For a complete schedule visit: http://www.kirotv.com/marchmania/index.html
And if you haven’t yet signed up for Genext TV or can't
get to a TV for the games, the first three rounds of competition
will be available online. Following last year’s enormous
success of March Madness on Demand with over 19 million streams
recorded and more than 5 million visits...this year you can
again watch LIVE game broadcasts of the NCAA Tournament on
your computer for FREE! CBS claims it was one of the "largest
live Internet events ever" and estimates this year's
traffic will top last year's.
With the Cougars first game against Oral Roberts on Thursday,
March 15th, make sure to tune in to your Genext TV or online
for the play-by-play. Will WSU be one of 32 teams to make
it through to the first round and just possibly advance to
the Final Four, Tournament Champion? If not, there is another
opportunity to watch an Eastern Washington team in the tournament;
Gonzaga has also successfully scored an invite to this years
Tournament. Tune in and check it out…March Madness is
in full swing.

Important Information about
the Way you Watch TV
Are you shopping around for a new TV? If so, you can't afford
to miss out on the latest news about the federal mandate affecting
the way you watch TV.
Analog broadcasts are soon to become a thing of the past!
The FCC has set a date of February 19, 2009, by which all
TV broadcasts will be exclusively Digital. The mandate is
designed to help the public make a painless transition from
the old technology to the new.
Television sets are now being designed to receive signals
containing a tuner capable of receiving Digital broadcasts.
For the last few years, Digital tuners have been required
in television sets with screens larger than 25 inches.
Don't worry; those who still watch analog broadcasts have
nothing to fear. Even when the television networks go all
Digital in 2009, Genext will offer adapter boxes that will
convert the Digital signal into analog form, suitable for
the older technology.
And the US Government just announced they have set aside
up to $1.5 billion to ease the transition from analog TV broadcasts
to the Digital standard. By providing a $40 coupon, similar
to a store gift card, each household is able to claim up to
two coupons between January 1, 2008 and March 31, 2009. The
coupons can be used to purchase a Digital set-top box costing
between $50 and $75. These new boxes will convert Digital
TV signals into an analog signal that the older TV sets can
display.
At Genext we understand Digital is the future of TV. The
unlimited bandwidth capabilities that Digital TV provides
will allow us to continue to add more HD channels and content
to our lineup. Your TV experience will be better than ever,
think clearer picture, more channels and greater flexibility.
We will continue to provide information about the 2009 mandate
as more information becomes available. If you have any questions,
please don’t hesitate to contact Genext.
