Feeling like you forgot something, or perhaps missed out this summer? Don't
worry; the feeling is mutual as Wenatchee's annual summertime event has yet
to take place. That's right, the annual NCHBA Tour of Homes been pushed back
this year. The typical July event made the move to mid-September, a welcome change
to event-goers who can now exchange the sweltering summer heat and busy vacation season
for a cooler, crisp fall weekend.
Now that you've realized you haven't missed out, make sure and mark your
calendar for September 13th through the 16th. The four-day Tour is a rare opportunity
to view some of the Valley's premier homes and real estate. This annual event
attracts folks from all over the state who are looking for the latest trends in design,
construction, technology, landscaping and more. This year, the Tour will feature 13
homes on both sides of the river. The last few years the Tour has been dominated by
East Wenatchee locales, but this year there are more homes scattered throughout Wenatchee
Valley.
Genext was chosen yet again this year to install and hook up the technology in these
unique homes. Below is an overview of the homes we helped create.
SLD Companies, Inc: Located on a quaint cul-de-sac in Wenatchee within steps of the
canal, this craftsmen style home was built with technology in mind. A GE Smart System
allows the homeowner easy access to fiber optic cabling, allowing easy hook up to
Genext Internet, TV and Voice Service upon move in. With unique high performance HD
cabling, movies and TV have never looked this good. A premier sound system distributes
music all over the home, controlled by just one simple remote...turn up the volume
downstairs, off upstairs and start the surround sound on the movie…all with
the touch of a button. Not to be left out is a luxury central vacuum system making
cleanups and maintenance easier than ever.
Stimac Construction: This is our third year in a row working on the Stimac Tour home.
And this has got to be the coolest home yet. On a quiet East Wenatchee neighborhood,
this half million dollar home is capable of any technology. The lucky buyer can choose
from a variety of technology options...security system for safety and comfort, home
theatre for entertainment, lighting control to set any mood and top of the line sound
systems inside or in the private backyard. It is also equipped with a central vacuum
system that would make your mother jealous!
These builders ultimately chose Genext because of our reputable name and high standards
for quality work. Make sure and check out this year's Tour of Homes...your summer
fall won't be complete without!

Don't Miss The Lake Chelan Home Tour
Want another chance to peak inside the luxurious lifestyle? Pay a visit to the Lake
Chelan Home Tour for a look at the areas grandest views and most prestigious homes.
This event is new to Genext and we were thrilled to be selected as the Technology
provider for one of the five homes on display.
The Lake Chelan Community Hospital Guild B Home Tour is one day only, Saturday, September
22nd from 11 am to 5 pm. The annual event benefits the Lake Chelan Community Hospital
and you'll get a rare opportunity to take a guided tour of each home on display.
Last year, over 600 people attended the Home Tour, featuring homes in the Chelan and
Manson area.
The five homes on display this year include:
Trond & Debbie Bodal, Brimstone Lane
Dave & Leslie Moore, Crystal View Estates
Gary & Linda Piro, Lakeshore Road
Brent & Afni Macdonald, Lakeshore Road
Ken & Sue Marques, Mill Street in Manson
At the Marques home in Manson, Genext installed a Security System, complete sound
system with speakers throughout the home...all controlled by one universal remote.
The home is also future ready meaning it is wired for any technology or systems desired.
In addition to the Home Tour there will also be an art sale at Tsillian Cellars from
10 am to 6 pm. All proceeds will be donated to the hospital to assist with the purchase
of a surgical monitor scanner and a computerized emergency room gurney.

you need and are considered a leader in high definition content. With even more HD

Yes, close to 20, with the addition of Golf/VERSUS HD, Food HD, HGTV HD, History HD,
Sleuth HD, Fox Sports NW HD and very exciting...soon all of the HBO/Cinemax channels
will be released in HD...that's over 26 HBO channels in High Definition!
Along with new HD content, we have a few changes to our Digital Latino Tier. Spanish-language
programming is on the rise as more and more subscribers are requesting additions to
this tier. And we have it; on Friday, August 10th we launched TV Colombia and TBN
Enlace. TV Colombia replaced Latin TV, as the network announced to the Spanish press
that it was ceasing its television operations. While we are disappointed in the loss
of this network we are pleased to bring on two new channels.
TV Colombia (Channel 677) - This new Latino channel broadcasts more than 13 hours
of live content, including news, sports, talk shows and a variety of shows and kid's
programs.
TBN Enlace (Channel 675) - Features a unique combination of the best inspirational
programs from Latin America and the most popular programs from TBN. TBN Enlace's
faith based programs include inspirational church services, popular music videos,
informative talk shows and entertaining children's programs.
As well, we just received notice from Discovery Networks about Discovery Kids en
Espanol (Channel 695) and Discovery Travel & Living en Espanol (Channel 696).
After conclusive comments and feedback from consumers and affiliates, it has decided
to drop both these networks and launch Discovery Familia. This new channel will provide
something for the entire family - including favorites from Discovery Kids en Espanol
and Travel & Living en Espanol. This change will take place on September 3rd of
this year. We look forward to the addition of Discovery Familia.
Office Closure – Please Read
Genext is getting a remodel! It's come time to make some upgrades to the Genext
headquarters and we have finally decided to take the jump. As such, the office will
be temporarily closed to complete the necessary work. It will only be for a few short
days but please make note today, we don't want there to be any confusion!
Beginning on Wednesday, September 26th through Monday, October 1st the Genext, East
Wenatchee office will be closed. Don't be alarmed! Your services will not be
interrupted and you will notice zero change other than a big “Closed”
sign on the door of our office.
This daunting challenge is a first, as we have never had to close the office; however
it is long overdue for a revamp and belated spring-clean. Brand new carpeting and
flooring will be installed and we are also taking care of some pesky bugs that have
been lingering around searching for crumbs. We are confident the office revamp will
allow us to better serve you in the future and offer a more comfortable atmosphere
for both our staff as well as our customers.
With a looming date advancing we have a lot of work to do to ensure a smooth transition.
Please write down the dates (9/26 – 10/1) as a Genext office closure. And if
you need to make changes to your account, payments, upgrades or anything else don't
hesitate…give us a call today and try to do so before the 26th of September.
Again, if you have any questions feel free to contact us in advance. We will also
send out an email notice and put a reminder in the September newsletter. We thank
you in advance for your cooperation and patience during this time.
Back to School – Time to Re-evaluate your
Internet Speeds
Summertime is winding down and summer vacations are coming to an end. It's back-to-school
time!
It's a time that many children eagerly anticipate; catching up with old friends,
making new ones and settling into a new daily routine. Parents and children alike
are scanning the newspapers and Web sites looking for upcoming sales to shop for a
multitude of school supplies and the latest clothing fads and essentials.
Don't forget the most critical back-to-school item…High Speed Internet!
Nowadays the Internet is a vital part of the classroom. A recent study indicated that
75 percent of student's aged 3 to 17 use the Internet to complete school assignments.
And we all know the benefits of fast Internet! With kids fighting over the computer
why waste any more time dialing up, downloading and browsing for information.
As getting online becomes a more integrated part of the classroom and your children's
learning, is it time you re-evaluated your Internet speeds? Help your kids succeed
this school year with faster, more reliable Internet. Did you know that 80 percent
of parents and 86 percent of teens believe the Internet helps kids do better in school?
It's true, the Internet is a great tool but are you compromising too much time
and money getting online?
If you have put off getting Fiber at your home, stop delaying and signup today. Fiber
is by far the fastest, most efficient way to get online! Plus it's always on, meaning
you don't need to reconnect each time you want to get online. Simply click and you
are on in seconds. Give your kids the means to find information quickly and easily
on the Web. Call to check if Fiber is available where you live - if not, there might
be a better solution to your slow Internet.
